Understanding Your Dynamic Event Scorecard

To read your Dynamic Event scorecards, here are a few tips.

  1. All metrics have been labeled according to the competition ruleset to make it easy for your team to determine which metric is being listed.
  2. Scores are made up of several different types of metrics. The scorecard is NOT a complete view of your score. It is simply a listing of metrics.
  3. Relative metrics cannot be determined until after all cars have run and therefore scores cannot be determined until after the dynamic event has ended.

Below is a breakdown of what metrics fall into which category.

Straight Line Challenge Maximum Possible Score - 100 points

  • Base Metrics - 50 base points (Violations displayed on the scorecard are subtracted from this total)
    • SLC-1 Maximum Longitudinal Acceleration
    • SLC-2 Maximum Longitudinal Deceleration
    • SLC-3 Maximum Lateral Acceleration
    • SLC-4 Maintaining Lane Without Entire Tire Crossing the Lane Line
  • Relative Metrics (Will not display on the scorecard)
    • SLC-6 Lap Time
    • SLC-18 Average Distance before Limit Line
  • Other Metrics (Can be positive or negative on scorecard)
    • SLC-5 Distance before Limit Line Without Crossing the Closest Edge of Limit Line
    • SLC-7 Penalty: Driving on or outside of the lane boundaries
    • SLC-8 Penalty: Failing to stop for a stop sign
    • SLC-9 Penalty: Stopping beyond the stop sign
    • SLC-10 Penalty: Failing to remain stopped for 2 seconds
  • Possible DNFs

Object Detection & Avoidance Challenge Maximum Possible Score - 200 points

  • Base Metrics - 65 base points (Violations displayed on the scorecard are subtracted from this total)
Due to the unique nature of ODAC, teams will receive a percentage of base metric points determined by the portion of the course that they complete
